How To Become Less Busy

How To Become Less Busy

When was the last time you had a vacation?

Has it crossed your mind lately, or have you been too busy to think of such a thing?

I once asked a brother how he was feeling, and his response was, 'busy.'

Busy?

Since when did busy become a feeling?

Many people I work with feel they should be doing more.

Everything is urgent and a top priority in life today.

When we have no working principles to guide us, we feel behind and need to catch up.

No one has time anymore to relax.

Where are we in such a rush to run?

Better yet, from what are we running away?

We are too busy to be balanced or even happy.

Live Your Core Values

Recovery is discovering who we are by staying consciously in contact with our Higher Power.

Before addiction took over our lives, many of us had morals and values.

Either we were taught by our parents, grandparents, teacher, coach, aunt, or someone.

Their goals were to instill substance in us to stand on when facing trials.

Wanting to be grown, fit in, or feel like we were enough, we didn't listen.

If we were to learn about living, it would have to be the hard way.

We had to get our experience.

Fear has us believing things we wouldn't accept from an outsider.

When we follow the ways of fear, we slowly lose ourselves, and our life stops making sense.

The path back is internal.

We must be willing to do the work to return to our values.

Learn To Be Yourself

Be yourself.

To thy self be true.

Those are some of the phrases I'm sure you have heard.

The problem is most people don't know themselves or accept themselves on a deeper level.

It takes courage to look within and discover your True Self.

The person God intended you to be is underneath your flaws, personality, and fears.

We stay busy in the hope of finding purpose and meaning than nourishing a loving relationship with ourselves.

It's a simple process, but it isn't easy when we're not in tune with our spirit and feelings.

Slow Down

We stay busy because it keeps our focus off of ourselves.

The negative narrative voice in our heads makes us feel uncomfortable.

Its job is to kill, steal and destroy our spirit by having us living in the past and worrying about the future.

It wants us to believe the lies it tells us about ourselves and the world.

But if we slow down and get unattached to what it is saying.

We can hear that still, quiet voice within.

Our intuition.

Everything we are searching for we already have. We start from success. Abundance is what we are made of.  Slow down and walk in victory.
